FAQ – Microgreens & Tea
Collapsible content
What are Microgreens?
Microgreens are young, edible plants harvested at an early growth stage, typically after the first true leaves have developed. They are known for their concentrated flavors and nutritional benefits.
Are Microgreens the same as sprouts?
No. Microgreens are grown in soil (or a soil substitute), exposed to light, and harvested after the cotyledons develop. Only the stem and leaves are eaten. Sprouts are germinated seeds grown in water and consumed whole—seed, root, and shoot.
What are the nutritional benefits of Microgreens?
Microgreens are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. Some studies show they can contain 11–40 times more nutrients than their mature counterparts.
How do I store Microgreens?
Keep them refrigerated in their original container or wrapped in a damp paper towel inside a sealed bag. Store in the vegetable drawer for best freshness.
How do I use Microgreens in cooking?
They’re incredibly versatile—add to salads, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, omelets, grain bowls, or as a vibrant garnish.
Can I mix different types of Microgreens?
Absolutely! Blending different varieties can add visual appeal, complexity, and depth of flavor to your meals.
Are Microgreens safe to eat raw?
Yes, and they’re usually enjoyed raw to preserve their texture and flavor.
Are Microgreens suitable for specific diets?
Definitely. They fit easily into vegetarian, vegan, keto, paleo, and gluten-free diets.
